There was no Charles Wright? Band and he is not singing this song. The drummer, James Gadson, wrote it and sings it but got no credit; it was why he quit The Watts 103rd St, Band. He went to Cream Records and used the same melody with other lyrics to record his first solo release. He called it "Got to find my baby" Cream 1014
